ACADEMICS / PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Academic Programs

The Ceiba Institute for Biblical Studies offers students the choices of study in three distinct, yet blended areas of concentrations in religious education: Biblical Studies, Ministry and Theology.

Certificate Programs:

  • Certificate in Theology
  • Certificate in Biblical Studies

The two Certificate Programs teach the essentials of Theology, Biblical Studies and Ministry. These certificate programs are especially helpful for students preparing for ministry or continued studies for an Associate and Bachelor Degree, and for preparation for ordination. Studies include Christian tradition, liturgy, and theology, while also participating in field education courses.

Certificate Programs are offered on the undergraduate level and can be earned in conjunction with degree programs or as a stand-alone program of study.

Associate Degree Program

The Associate of Biblical Studies is the beginning of Bible training at the Ceiba Institute. Students who previously have not completed at least 60 semester hours of college level work will begin at this level. Students may receive advanced standing in the program through transfer credits and, in instances where the student is well-qualified, through life-time credits. The program gives the student solid preparation for the Bachelor of Theology and future Masters programs at the Ceiba Institute.

The Associate of Biblical Studies program primarily consists of training in key Bible books and theological topics. Most courses will involve traditional final exams. The Associate of Biblical Studies program is an advance-at-your-own-pace program. Most students will complete the program in less than two years.

Bachelor Degree Programs

Prerequisite for the Bachelor Program is an Associate’s Degree or at least 60 semester hours of college credits. The Bachelor of Theology of Ministry is the final two years of the student’s undergraduate study. Students may receive advanced standing in the program through transfer credits, and in instances where the student is well-qualified, through life-time credits.

The Th.B. program consists of training in key Bible books, key doctrines, and foundational ministry preparation courses. Most courses will involve traditional final exams. The Bachelor Degree Program is an advance-at-your-own-pace program. Most students will complete the program in less than two years.
