AUTHORIZATION TO GRANT DEGREES


Degree programs of study at Ceiba Institute for Biblical Studies have been declared by the appropriate state authority exempt from the requirements for licensure, under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) 116-15 (d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.


Ceiba Institute Certificate and Diploma Programs


In addition, Ceiba Institute for Biblical Studies offers the following nontraditional certificate and diploma programs for students with ministry experience, but without a baccalaureate degree:


•      Certificate of Biblical Studies (CBS)

•      Certificate of Theological Studies (CTS)


Ceiba Institute for Biblical Studies is authorized to grant the following degrees:


•      Associate of Biblical Studies (ABS)

•      Bachelor of Theology (BTh)

•      Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBS) – Beginning Fall 2022


Authorization to Conduct Distance Education


Ceiba Institute for Biblical Studies is authorized to conduct distance education as a nonpublic postsecondary religious exempt institution according to: University of North Carolina and is in compliance with North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) 116–15(d)


Academic Sessions / Distant Education


The Institute currently operates on a four-session annual calendar. All courses during the regular school year are scheduled for approximately three months each. School is year-round. All courses are taught via distant education format utilizing, the internet, wireless, phone and the postal service.
